I think, and I'm sure they must have been done different things because the diff was tooooo big... Guess Kimi will be there in the race fighting for the win to be honoust.
Think Ferr looks really good... for those who wanted Kimi to stay in Lotus ;-)))))
seems Kimi had a totally diff program and fuels than Alonso... But as Ferrari said, both are driving for the team to optimize the car... in the end they will both get what they feels the best with...
Vilander said in MTV 3 Kimi has old problem with the front end, meaning it doesnt turn in like he wants it. Its made for Alonsos needs and Kimi was probably talking about this when saying he needs changes. But the fuel load was probably different, it looked like Ferrari is comparing strategies? Kimi might be a bit behind in quali .
means also in race trim that it's a minor problem, but in quali a bigger...
Really hopes kimi gets what he wants... might take some time/races before it's perfect, but in lotus it was the same and we saw in race that he can drive along
TS writes Kimi had also brake problems and ERS problems. His car seems to attach all the faults Ferrari can get. Kimis use of brakes is different to Alonsos .
still i'm optimistic they'll try to solve them! its only natural, Alonso is there so long now, they know his set up style. i do think they'll fix the problems!
Domenicali said they are doing everything they can. He said there is nothing wrong in their drivers. Its the car ..it seems its very difficult to drive..again.
read on AS ferrari is going to change the whole front end of kimi's car to get it to his likings... I think it's very important for Kimi to do this, better than running around the problem n never get the car to his likings... I like it when he asks for it and ferrari listens and do this for him... Much better than 2008-2009
they all learned from the past i hope! Dom also said they have not solved all probs... for Kimi it was up to now few laps, probs, few laps probs....lets see...
quoteKimi Raikkonen, P1 - 1:32.977, 9th; P2 - 1:30.898, 7th “That was a pretty demanding day, because although we managed to complete our programme, it wasn’t trouble-free. In the first session we lost a bit of time, but that didn’t prevent us acquiring enough data to evaluate the overall handling of the car and the Pirelli compounds. This evening there will be a lot of work to do, especially to understand what didn’t work and to try and improve for qualifying and the race”.

quoteFernando Alonso, P1 - 1:31.840, 1st; P2 - 1:30.132, 3rd “On the first Friday of the season, there’s always a bit more tension. It’s the start of a new championship and there is the feeling of general expectation to see how things we worked on during the winter are functioning. Overall, this was a positive day for us and even if there was an element of nervousness because of the complexity introduced by the new technical regulations, everything went well. The team did a super job and we had no problems. The track improved from the first session to the second, with more grip compared to the morning and there was also more wind. Running the soft tyre certainly helped, as the extra grip meant the times came down, but it’s impossible to have a clear idea of how competitive we are, because as usual, Friday results don’t mean much. To know more, we must wait until everyone is running in the same trim”.
Pat Fry, Ferrari chassis director “That was a pretty demanding day, because although we managed to complete our programme, it wasn’t trouble-free. In the first session we lost a bit of time, but that didn’t prevent us acquiring enough data to evaluate the overall handling of the car and the Pirelli compounds. This evening there will be a lot of work to do, especially to understand what didn’t work and to try and improve for qualifying and the race”.
Mercs long runs were easily the most impressive. They look the strongest in all departments today. I think it will be Metc 1-2 with a red bull rounding out the podium
I do wonder why they didn't make the change to Kimi's front end, during FP1 and FP2. But I am glad the change will be made for tomorrow, I just hope it works.
