quote...... Do you have a favourite driver? Oh, it's very important for us presenters not to have a favourite… C'mon!
OK, but when you did the pit walk, you must have looked at some drivers -Jenson Button - and thought: 'Oooh, I'll talk to him, he's always nice.' Of course, there are always drivers who you know will chat to you and be friendly, like Daniel and Jenson, who are very good at being interviewed and being fair to everyone. But even someone less approachable…
Like Kimi Räikkönen. Like Kimi Räikkönen, exactly. But I just love the challenge of trying to get something out of him. Actually, Kimi and I had a bit of a breakthrough in Moscow when I went ice driving with him and I smashed his car. I thought he was going to be furious, but he just laughed and I had never really heard him laugh before. I think he just has a bit of a maniac streak to him. So we found some common ground - me being a crap driver, and him laughing when I crash.
Kimi also had a preview of the 2015 ferrari which suggests he will stay, alonso didnt have... He also had meetings with ldm, ja and mattiaci and his engineers for development
quoteF1: Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel face some similar problems
Champions Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel are suffering from similar problems in 2014.
That is the claim of Raikkonen's manager Steve Robertson, amid speculation that due to his struggles, the Finnish driver could be losing the support of Ferrari and beginning to cast eyes at a new project -- world rallycross.
But also notably struggling in 2014 is Sebastian Vettel, the reigning quadruple world champion who has been humbled by Red Bull newcomer Daniel Ricciardo.
"It is true that Kimi and Sebastian seem to have a similar problem with their cars," Robertson told Finland's Turun Sanomat newspaper.
"This new generation of F1 car has significantly reduced downforce at the front end, which has affected the driving. We can only hope that Ferrari is able to resolve it as soon as possible, giving Kimi a car the way he wants it to be," he added.
Indeed, 34-year-old Raikkonen was at the team's Maranello factory on Wednesday, but the focus was not just on improving this year.
"There was also time for Kimi to acquaint himself with the 2015 car," the Italian team said on its official website.
quoteRaikkonen expects to retire at end of 2015 Laurence Edmondson at Silverstone July 3, 2014
Kimi Raikkonen says he expects to retire from Formula One at the end of 2015 when his current Ferrari contract expires.
Raikkonen moved from Lotus to Ferrari over the winter after signing a two-year contract, but has struggled for results this season with just 19 points from eight races.
Asked if he saw himself at Ferrari for a long time, he said: "Until my contract is finished and then I will probably stop. That is what I think is going to happen."
Raikkonen has expressed interest in driving in other series outside Formula One, but said he was not yet sure where he would end up.
"I don't know yet. I've tried many things and there is no harm in it, it doesn't take anything away doing it at the same time as Formula One, I think it can only help and for sure it does not harm. You always learn when you drive different things but the problem is that the teams are scared if we get hurt so there is a big conflict on that.
"In the past when I was at Ferrari I was allowed to do some rallies, and I thought it was a big help and I was doing well at the same time in Formula One. But every team is different. It would be nice, not just for us, but for the fans and the spectators seeing us doing many things and mixing them up."
Asked if being given the freedom to race in other categories would be enough to convince him to stay in F1, he added: "I don't think [so], when I feel it's time to finish Formula One, it's time to finish that. Even doing something else at the same time makes no difference because obviously the decision is about F1 and if it is the right time to stop."
Quote: WHATEVER wrote in post #428I really hope next year's car will be so good, it'll convince Kimi to add another year.
Yeah, I think it all depends on how good is the car next year. If Ferrari produced a great car and Kimi srat enjoying the racing again then he may consider another year in F1.

me too, i hope so, i dream of it so often ....but then, most things come to an end at some point, so i prepare myself for that moment
quoteSteve Robertson (manager): "He didn't say he's going to retire after 2015, I've spoken with other journalists and all asked me the same question. He didn't give a specific deadline, he has simply said that after F1 he's going to do something else, because he's a driver. But he didn't mention a particular year. Now he's focused on F1. Kimi loves F1, never say never, it's too early to speak about this, we still are in 2014. If he wants to continue and he feels that there is an opportunity with Ferrari or someone else, we'll never know."
