Just great more nonsense. Boullier is starting to sound like a pain in the arse. I dont think Kimi wants a massive salary, he just wants to know that Lotus will not suddenly go bankrupt, and that they can develop their cars. He has already lowed his salary this season. But on the otherhand if Lotus really doesn't have money then they dont have it. They are just not getting the Infinity deal finalized.
But looking around at the reaction to the Red Bull news, people doesn't seem to happy that Kimi hasn't gotten the seat.
Why is it always like this with Kimi... Is it Kimi, or the Robertsons, or maybe F1? " title="dunno" /> I wish I had followed Kimi back when he stayed 5 years in a row with McLaren, but I was busy having babies h" title="hih" />
Anyway, I'm glad I'm busy now too, to follow the drama to closely. I'm kind of disapointed about the RB seat too. Not that it was perfect but almost...
Zitat No driver announcement at Spa - Marko Added: 54 minutes ago This page has been viewed: 151 times
Aug.20 (GMM) Dr Helmut Marko backtracked on Tuesday, revealing Red Bull will in fact not finalise its 2014 driver lineup this weekend in Belgium.
Earlier, amid reports the world champion team has decided to promote Daniel Ricciardo to replace the Le Mans-bound Mark Webber, Marko told Germany's Sport Bild that "we will make an announcement at Spa".
But on Tuesday, the Austrian was quoted by SID news agency: "We will express ourselves when the time comes, and that will definitely not be at Spa."
24 hours ago, Kimi Raikkonen's manager Steve Robertson said talks with Red Bull had ended. Reports suggested the 2007 world champion is now more likely to return to Ferrari in 2014.
Marko did not want to comment.
"What we will do will be the best for the team, in the medium term," said team owner Dietrich Mateschitz's right-hand man.

I do think the negotiations with Red Bull is over, I dont think the Robertsons would just say it is over and close all of the doors behind them.
Going by the reaction on the internet people really wanted to see Kimi at Red Bull. It seems like Red Bull ha missed a chance of good marketing.
But on the otherhand I dont think it was a realistic choice, as irony would have it, it is actually an inverted compliment. If Kimi was less competitive sinse his comeback he properly could have gotten the seat. But with Kimi's form the paring would be to competitive against each other.

I am not taking this seriously this is only Red Bull's reaction because the Robertson's have jumped them in the news department. If the talks have dried up a while ago, then Red Bull was basically using Kimi's name to drum up further interest in their seat for a while now. They also dragged Alonso's name into the equation for the same reason. Steve Robertson has taken the wind from their sails. And now people are actually reacting negatively, because they wanted the dream team, of two competing champions. When Ricciardo finally gets announced it will not be a surprise, and a lot of people will not be interested.
But I dont think the Robertson's would just have closed the Red Bull door behind them if there was still a chance for negotiations. Red Bull are just trying to create the surprise element over again.

Is it 'normal' for the Robertson's to leak information to the media? I was a bit surprised that the first news we heard from Kimi's camp was an unsuccessful negotiation. And this leads me to believe that some negotiating point with Red Bull really struck a nerve with Kimi and/or Robertson. Why else would this be leaked? " title="dunno" />
I agree with you that the door was slammed shut for a reason. Either Robertson is really playing hardball with Red Bull, or the deal was progressing and something went astray. It's hard to know for sure which route it went. But I am inclined to believe that negotiations really are finished. Especially with a Red Bull announcement that was supposed to occur at SPA.
As for Kimi: I think he will end up at Lotus. I am quite concerned that the deal with Infinity isn't finished yet. It was supposed to be completed 1 week into the summer break. And still isn't inked. I wish Lotus would have secured financial backing a while ago. It would have made this season a lot less silly IMO
I'm actually a bit surprised that they let Marko did all the talking.... or maybe he jumped the gun by saying they'll announced driver at Spa, then Robertson reacted and said the negotiation had broken down, and now for whatever reason Marko had to backtrack and saying it will definitely not at Spa.... I dont really know how realistic the negotiations with Kimi ever was. Red Bull's choice always had to do with choosing a racing philosophy, it isn't really driver related.
I really dont understand why Lotus announced the Infinity deal in the first place. Why would you announce something before it is done? It seems rather silly. And Boullier is obviously speaking to much again, luckily we all know Lopez is really in charge.
ZitatHere is the lenght of Kimi Räikkönen's Ferrari-contract!

Speculations around Kimi Räikkönen and Ferrari have been heated, ever since SuomiF1-website published on August 1st, as the first media in the world, the news that Kimi had already signed a contract with Ferrari.
Lately the majority of experts have leaned in the direction that Kimi will really be seen in the red car in 2014. Now they speculate in the media about the lenght of the contract and when it will be announced.
- The contract is for two years and it has an option for a third year. It's still unclear if they tell about a 2- or 3-year long contract when they announce it. My guess is that Ferrari announces that the contract is for two years, although in reality it is 2+1, a source close to Ferrari told our website.
In F1 an option in a contract can mean many things. Usually either the team binds the driver for an additional year depending on his success, or then a driver agrees to one more additional year if the team can prove their competitiveness during the contract season. The option can on the other hand also be decided by one of the parties.
"The contract won't necessarily be published in Monza"
The logical time to announce Räikkönen's Ferrari-contract would be in Monza. However the ”Iceman” has often proved that the most logical option isnt always the right one. Maybe it's not this time either?
- Räikkönen's previous Ferrari-contract was announced in Monza, but now the contract won't necessarily be published there. I was told that the reason for this are contractual matters, of which I don't yet know more, our source tells us.
- But the contract is already signed. It has nothing to do with that.
Our much loved Spanish Samurai has returned of holidays and is now talking of braveness and higher goals.
The Warrior that uses the sword when is insulted can not be considered brave, brave man does not flinch, because he has higher goals..
— Fernando Alonso (@alo_oficial) August 19, 2013
So what is Alonso saying? Is he admitting that he insulted LdM and the latter used the ‘sword’ (aka brought Kimi in). But Alonso gives us comfort, “[the] brave man does not flinch, because he has higher goals“.
Please share those goals brave warrior, we are intrigued.
Update: (17:10)
Today, Leo Turrini, an Italian blogger, who is considered the unofficial voice of Ferrari, (and good friend of Domenicali and Di Montezemolo and a big Kimi fan) had lunch with Stefano Domenicali, which they often do. Below is an extract from their lunch today as told by Turrini.
‘The Dom, Kimi and the safety of a great second hand‘
Turrini: “I like a great second hand, you like a great second hand, he likes a great second hand, where’s the problem?“
Domenicali: “There is no problem.” smiling while saying this
Turrini: “Except for the fact that I can stop this blog, after having experienced the greatest satisfaction of my life (the return of Kimi).”
Domenicali: “You don’t stop anything! This is not the beginning of the end, but the end of certain principles and new beginning.”
Turrini: “Right, how do you think Fernando will react to this news?“
Domenicali: “I have no idea…” (doing his best Kimi impersonation from the Renault commercial)
So dear members of the TJ13 jury, your thoughts on this?
