Wasn't IceOneracing supposed to be all about supporting new Finnish talent? What are they doing with a French and a Portuguese drivers? " title="dunno" />
I don't know.... guess Kimi can't keep pouring in money without seeing result... I guess when they move to KTM maybe with new sponsors and other factors they need to become more international.
At first I thought Kimi was going to be interviewed, but when I saw those guys playing I immediatelly thought: Oh I bet Kimi's there playing with them... and there he was!
I was wondering about that Husqvarna deal and how that is connected to KTM but Husqvarna is actually owned by KTM and they want to restablish the brand Husqvarna and make the brand KTM less dominating in the championship.
ZitatHusqvarna: Martens and Raikkonen turn into factory teams!
At austrian Mattighofen it has now been decided who will operate and use the two Husqvarna factory teams in the MX GP class and in the MX2 World Championship 2014. "In the MX2 class it will be Jacky Martens," Pit Beirer, Head of KTM Motorsports revealed at the Dutch TT in Assen. "As the last world champion to Husqvarna he is predestined," added the two-time motocross world champion Heinz Kinigadner.
"In the MX GP it is Formula 1 driver Kimi Raikkonen with his motocross racing team IceOne" told Beirer. "It makes sense if we settle Husqvarna in Scandinavia again a bit. So the Iceman fits perfectly into the concept. "
"Furthermore," Kinigadner added with a grin, "is this a further step for Kimi towards Formula 1 team Red Bull Racing ..."
Pit Beirer explains: "The riders are not yet fixed. But Martens and Raikkonen get the Husqvarna factory teams in the two classes, they get the material from Munderfing, which is the starting shot. If these teams are established, the two team owners will take care of the driver so we get good drivers. "
Kimi Raikkonen: He wants better drivers
Raikkonen had until the end of 2011, a team with material from Kawasaki and went on for 2012 with customers KTM motorcycles. He has the riders Xavier Boog and Rui Goncalves under contract.
Beirer: "Kimi wants for the future quite clearly better drivers, for that he must be able to demonstrate competitive material. If he has working material available from Husqvarna, he should succeed.
Red Bull already sponsored the team, so I guess they will now be a title sponsor. But the big thing is that will become a factory team and that is due to Husqvarna.
Kimi is clearly a good manager, his team is only 3 years old, and he gained bigger sponsors and now he is becoming a factory team. Lotus could learn a thing or two.
