ZitatNew super-helmet is custom made for Räikkönen
F1 | Turun Sanomat 08:42
Kimi Räikkönen moved to Bell's helmet camp when the new season began.
Last year Kimi was a user of Arai's helmets and he used Schuberth's helmets during his Ferrari-times.
In F1 11 drivers are in Arai's camp, 6 drivers are in Bell's camp and 5 drivers are in Schuberth's camp.
Räikkönen is clearly the most successful of Bell's users. Other users are Romain Grosjean, Pastor Maldonado, Esteban Gutierrez, Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne.
The CEO in Bell's Asian and African actitivities, Martine Kindt, praised Räikkönen's significance to their Bell-company to Turun Sanomat.
– We have worked together with stars like Senna, Prost, Berger, Fittipaldi, Schumacher, Button and Villeneuve. They were all very special drivers, but we have Kimi here and now. He is very important to us, he is a world champion and he believes in us and we want to thank him by doing our very best for him. Hopefully this leads to new victories and a championship, Kindt emphasizes.
Small-talk has no effect on Räikkönen
A switch from one camp to another wasn't really in Räikkönen's plans after last season.
– Kimi felt that the relationship with the earlier helmet company was good and he wasn't especially interested in us. It took it's time before he decided to check out what we have to offer. In December he told us that he wants to try our helmet.
– For us it was clear that he wouldn't commit into anything unless he would be immediately completely satisfied with the feeling that our helmet gives him. We knew that we had to assure him the best way possible in a very short time. Kimi knows exactly what he wants, he is very accurate and technically he is very sharp. He sets his own quality requirements and it was up to us to meet them in order for him to be satisfied.
– You can't do any small-talk with Kimi, everything has to be clear and concrete, Kindt reminds.
Lightest helmet is made of the newest material
The new superhelmet is completely custom made to fit Räikkönen's head.
– We started the work by taking a three-dimensional X-ray of his skull. This way we could shape the helmet to fit his head in the best way and thoroughly optimize the comfort of usage according to FIA:s latest regulations, Kindt explains.
– We made the contract with Kimi just as we were finishing our latest HP7-model which is designed by a very innovative research- and development-program with an avant-garde technology.
In that development work we also concentrated on reducing the weight. As a result we have the lightest racing helmet on the market: Räikkönen's helmet with the HANS- head restraint's anchors and visor panel weighs only 1,470 kg.
– Because of the G-powers the helmet's weight is extremely important for the F1-drivers. This is why we aim to lessen the weight on a regular basis - especially because of the new regulations from FIA. It's not simple, it takes a lot of research and funding to research new materials and new production methods, Kindt clarifies.
The greatest feeling from the opening victory
A year ago Bell celebrated together with Pastor Maldonado his GP-victory in Barcelona, this season they got immediately a bull's eye in the opening race in Australia when Räikkönen hit the jackpot.
– Kimi's victory meant something very special and big to us. Since our co-operation started in such an awesome way it was a very emotional moment for us. Everyone had worked so hard for it - Kimi, our engineers - and his helmet painter Uffe Tägtström, Kindt glows.
Zitat Kimi’s Holy Thursdays The Racing Nerd April 12, 2013

I’m assured that deep down inside Kimi Räikkönen envies at least a bit drivers Rui Gonçalves and Xavier Boog who drive in his ICE1 Racing -motocrossteam.
They get to enjoy racing only to the fullest.
Interviews and other PR-stuff are minimal in motocross when compared to all the extra F1-jobs.
Räikkönen himself got charged in a motocross-camp in Holland before travelling to China at the last minute.
Kimi advised me after Malaysia GP to interview him at some other day than Thursday since the driver didn’t yet have any idea of how the car works on the track.
Based upon the interview recordings Kimi was more frustrated than usual when the questions were about his speculative switch to Red Bull and an imaginary situation of what he would had done if he would be Sebastian Vettel in Malaysia after getting a team order…
Räikkönen lives here and now, not in the past, not in the future – and least of all in someone else’s place somewhere else.
I heard that one reporter even said to Kimi after the interview ‘thanks for nothing’.
This reporter had asked Kimi if Räikkönen came back to F1 only because of money. Kimi replied that without the joy that racing gives him he would definitely be somewhere else than in China listening to all the crap they talk on the paddock.
In other words for example driving motocross in Holland….
Can you imagine Kimi having such conversation with Domenicalli and LdM... No way!
I don't think so either, W!
All I can remember is one video if Kimi talking to another male inside of the Ferrari grounds. LdM's helicopter flies in as Kimi is talking to this man during the video. Shortly thereafter, a messenger comes to Kimi (during the video) and says LdM wants to see him. And Kimi tells the messenger to Fuck off, he is busy with his video " title="ha" />
ZitatRed Bull’s 2014 interest ‘flattering’ says Raikkonen By Editor on Sunday, April 14, 2013
Kimi Raikkonen has hinted moving to Red Bull could be an option for 2014.
Rumours are swirling in the Shanghai paddock that the Finn, who is Sebastian Vettel’s closest friend in F1, has been earmarked as the successor to Mark Webber.
“There is so much talk that I’ve agreed a contract for next season,” Raikkonen exclaimed to Germany’s Bild am Sonntag.
“First I’m trying my best at Lotus, then I’ll think about my future.
“It is of course flattering, what Red Bull have said, but why is there all this talk if there is nothing (signed) on paper?” the 2007 world champion added.
The answer, of course, is that given Red Bull’s obvious interest, Raikkonen’s move would make sense.
He would work harmoniously with Vettel, and it would also be a good next move for the 33-year-old, who won 19 grands prix for McLaren and Ferrari before taking a two-year sabbatical in world rallying after the 2009 season.
“About the future, I am clear,” Raikkonen said. “I want to work with a good team and sit in a good car.
“Red Bull is a good team, they have been world champions and won everything in the past years.
“Basically, there are not many top teams to think about. With Lotus, we are not yet where Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull are.”
Speaking against the move, however, are equally-heard rumours in the paddock that Raikkonen is no longer serious about his trade: that he only returned to F1 for the money.
“Do you really think I would be here if it was just about money?” Raikkonen hit back. “I do enough fun things in my spare time than to have to listen to this bullshit.
Zitat von RagingjamaicanWell there are big rumours that Webbed-feet has signed a 5 yet deal with Porsche for endurance racing (I think).
I'd rather see Buemo in the car if I'm honest, I don't see Kimi conin out too well in this.
That's exactly the rumor. It's even being reported in Australia!
Nothing is signed yet according to Kimi. Even though we know Kimi for his brutal honesty, even he would not give away the contract prematurely.
I personally like the current situation of drivers. There are four elite drivers in the sport (Alonso, Hami, Vettel and Raikkonen), each driving for title contending teams. On the other hand, I would like to see Kimi in a team with the resources to fight for the title. I see a burning desire within him that I haven't seen since 2007..
It is a premiere, at least for Europe. For the first time, Wrangler has donned itself a spokesperson in Europe. For the launch this spring of Denim Spa for women, the jeans manufacturer tapped Lizzy Jagger. For fall 2013 and the launch of Denim Performance, the brand will be represented by Kimi Räikkönen.
The choice is a natural — a Formula 1 driver representing a new line that combines fashion and functionality, outerwear in waterproof or breathable technical fabrics, storage pockets for phone, passport, etc. And Kimi Räikkönen from Finland, in his early thirties, is back in Formula One racing, where he finished third in the 2012 championship. For Wrangler, it is also especially obvious that Northern Europe is the most important region for its business. Germany is by far its largest market, followed by France and the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile Denim Spa, the cosmetic textile line, really just cosmetic jeans, is being fronted by Lizzy Jagger, daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall. Kimi is the first spokesperson for the company’s European division. Only recently, the brand owned by the VF group (The North Face, Timberland, etc.) positioned itself in France as underground, rebellious and rock & roll, hosting basement sessions in Paris and participating in Bread & Butter. However, in January, the brand skipped the Berlin trade show.
