Zitat von SpinsterI think mclaren is going to be desperate to get kimi on kimi's conditions
I thought from the beginning that McLaren made a huge mistake letting Lewis go. The major comparison I see between Button and Lewis is their ability to extract 100% out of the car, regardless of ideal setup. If you would take a neutral car and throw both pilots in for one qualifying lap, I would bet the house on Lewis. This is exactly what I'm interested in seeing from McLaren. When the car isn't ideal: will one driver advance it up the grid? Without changing weather conditions, I would argue Jenson is not the ideal candidate. And I am cautiously saying I don't think Perez is the man either to face the task. It will be interesting to see how the drivers cope starting on the back foot. If neither are able to help McLaren score good points through difficult times, then I could see your theory being true Spinne.
An interesting finding. No pictures shows Kimi with a lotus hat up to now, previously he always appeared with hat and sunglasses. Seems Lotus has not designed a new one yet.
interesting point garfield " title="" /> most of us thought either that Clear wants to show off Kimi's healthy hair or that Kimi himself likes so much the new llok that he himself wants to show it off! h" title="hih" />

Very good point
Lotus still has not released the 2013 merchandise on their website or to F1 vendors. " title="" />
Zitat von claudieI think Kimi is too old to change the team another time (or to be interesting for other teams). (dont slap me)
Then again he still has to beat RoGro another time this year =)
I agree that Kimi is properly too old for one of the big teams. But at the same time I think that could easily change as well. There are lots of rookies entering the sport but they aren't really performing. If this trend keeps going on then I think the bigger team will rather get an older driver again. It is about supply and demand, if the young drivers cant show that they are able to outperform the older drivers then they will not just get the seats anymore. It will be interesting this year to see how Perez and Grosjean performs and I think the other big teams will keep an eye out on the situation as well. They are obviously younger generation drivers in top teams, if they still dont perform that well, tend I dont think the other top teams will be so keen on some of the other new generation drivers.
But who knows strange and unexpected things does sometimes happen in F1. For example Button might move from Mclaren then they could be interested in someone older who is a sure bet, and the same with Red Bull as well. Rosberg might decide to leave Mercedes, and there could be an opening. If Kimi has another good year then I am sure there would be some natural curiosity towards him. But truthfully I think going to Red Bull would be a very bad choice, even if Kimi could get a place there I personally do not want to see him there. Mclaren could be an alright option, but there is a lot going on at Mclaren right now, and would Kimi even want to return to them? I dont know. Clearly the best option for all concerned would be that Lotus just gets their shit together.
Raikkonen's getting wasted at Lotus, he's in great form right now and he's just basically doing what he was when he left in 2009, picking up the back end of the points with occasional podiums.
Ferrari are not going to want him, Red Bull have Alonso, Don't think McLaren will be his enoviroment and Mercedes look to have their drivers in for long term.
The only top team I see him going to is Mercedes,he's 33 right now, after the season ends he'll be 34. Lets remember those in number 1s in the current top teams right now are all younger than him apart from Button (I think).
I'm afraid he's missed the cut with the year out and will always have underachieved in F1.
That is, unless lotus build a rocketship next year while he continues for them.
He should definitely have more than one title and more wins, it saddens me when I look at his stats compared to those around him, even Buttons near Raikkonens stats.
