my personal and only personal opinion: i think its a mutual thing....they had been falling apart from each other, decided to stay in this arrangement for their own reasons, now they decided its the right time to split completely....Kimi did not look that unhappy and lonely during this time did he? perhaps during ferrari days, we havent really seen them together since then... these things happen. i hope they both move on and be happy, i'm sure they will...they're young, good looking, successful...they'll be fine...
To tell you the truth, I'm not surprised. It's been said ages ago and we've seen lots of hugging and smiling pics of Jenni and Steve (let me look for them). I'm also sure Kimi is not a saint either. What I'm shocked about, is how are they handeling this whole thing lately. After years of being apart in front of our eyes, why all this now " title="dunno" />
maybe they stayed together until one of them wanted to move on " title="hmm" /> I'm sure Kimi had his own affairs (I remember those pics from this summer) but it was "safe" to be married, The media wasn't chasing him.
Ok, guys ad girls I am not surprised one bit talking about 2007..because at the year 2008 I was wondering has Kimi fallen in love as he smiled so much despite the fact he knew he will get boot from Ferrari. Heikki Kulta knew it at the spring 2008 . But Kimi just kept on smiling .. " title="roll" /> ' To be honest I think it just was convinient to be married, convinient for Kimi because he had his piece and convinient for Jenni, to continue her hobby, paid by Kimi. This big reveal have been having some weird issues in Finland, like the timing of the announcement, just at the start of the tests..altho would it had been better to announce it at the start of the season? No. But then there is some disturbing things, like the magazine which is known to be a good payer about these kind of things and then the fact that this same magazine launched english version at the internet ..someone is getting big money about this ...then the ten page story at the same day the separation was published..I dont think it would have been done in just one night..it was ment to be published at the day Kimi starts testing. I just hope this doesnt get ugly for Kimis and Jennis sake. About divorce..in Finland ,if you do the divorce announcement to authorities together and do not start court case against your spouse , the money will be splitted usually half and half. There is no "quilty" to divorce issue here. Its easy to get divorce in Finland. But they have lived in Switzerland for years and there could be some different laws about the matter.
The timing is a bit strange, I do think the affairs have been mutual as in both has had many affairs. Jenni properly wants to move on, she is perhaps more serious about this new guy and she perhaps wants to get engaged to him in the future or something. That would be a good reason to get divorced.
But with her relationship becoming public now, she will be seen as the one initiating the divorce. This will definitely lessen her claim. But this whole story could still become pretty nasty. A year or a year and a half ago there was also the other story about Jenni and the compromising pictures, Kimi had to make all kinds of deals with the press to keep those pictures out of the tabloids. I wouldn't be surprised if that story also comes up again.
Usually things are not just split into half it often happens that each party only takes what they put into they marriage. Of course in the case of the highest income brackets they often have a different set of rules, especially if only one party is earning the big income.
i think/hope that they, as they have manage their affairs up to now in harmony ( these are situations where guts, strength and confidence are needed ), they will do so now too.....
@Sonny: there could have been a pre nup since Kimi was already an f1 driver with a handsome salary " title="wink" /> i guess this makes things easier....
