For me, marriage is not an akward thing from last century, for me, marriage is the ultimate form of unconditional love.

sure, we all want that. but I think the point is that on one hand not being married doesn't mean that you can't have all that above. While on the other hand being married is also no guaranty that it will stay. Kimi is a good example.
