Didn't Bernie say earlier he would help the nurburgring in any way he possibly could?
We are still yet to know of 3drivers on the grid, if we have 19 or 20 races, if the nurburgring will host the German GP, and if Rage will get a seat for 2013
ZitatGerman GP future in doubt as Ecclestone ends Nurburgring talks By Dieter Rencken and Jonathan Noble Monday, January 28th 2013, 12:48 GMT
German GP F1The future of the German Grand Prix appears to be hanging in the balance after Bernie Ecclestone revealed on Monday that he had ended negotiations with the Nurburgring over the 2013 event.
The Nurburgring was supposed to host this year's event as part of an alternation plan agreed with Hockenheim, but financial problems at the venue meant there was no guarantee it could fund the race.
Following weeks of talks to try to agree terms, Ecclestone has now indicated that a deal does not look like happening.
Speaking to German publication Spiegel, Ecclestone said: "After due consideration of their proposal we believe it is regrettably not financially acceptable, so we have terminated our negotiations."
The German GP's fate may now rest on Ecclestone sorting out a deal with Hockenheim, which hosted last year's race.
Should that plan not come off, then the Formula 1 calendar could be reduced to just 18 races - with plans for a 20th event having not reached fruition.
Turkey, Austria and Portugal were all linked with that vacant slot - which has been pencilled in for July 21 – but there has been no indication of a venue getting the green light.
If Germany does not take place, then it means there will be just one race – the Hungarian GP on July 28 – between the British GP on June 30 and the Belgian GP on August 25.

Do you know something that I don't? " title="huh" />
I've never wanted to " title="snap" /> someone so bad in my life. This crook is worth billions and billions. And he can't do something good for the sake of the sport. I understand it would be a precedent to "let a venue off the hook" from financial obligations. But come to some behind the scenes agreement for the sake of F1. For the sake of history..
ZitatHRT F1 entry and assets being pursued by new Scorpion Racing By Jonathan Noble Tuesday, January 29th 2013, 14:20 GMT
A group of Canadian and American investors are pushing to try and secure HRT's entry slot in Formula 1, AUTOSPORT can reveal, but they may have to wait until 2014 before being allowed to join the grid.
Sources have revealed that negotiations to purchase the HRT company and secure an entry are at an advanced stage, and the plan for a team known as Scorpion Racing appears to have the blessing of F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone.
However, AUTOSPORT understands that the FIA believes the 12th entry slot for 2013 was closed off when it was informed at the end of last season that HRT had been liquidated.
Although the governing body is aware of the plans for Scorpion Racing, it does not appear to have any intention of making a special case to allow another team in for 2013 because the entry deadline closed last November.

The investors behind Scorpion Racing are hoping to complete due diligence of the buy-out plans in the next few days.
That means the viability of their plans should become clearer by the end of the week.
Scorpion is hoping to run its effort from a facility at Silverstone, using updated HRT F112 cars that will be powered by Cosworth engines and use a Williams gearbox.
AUTOSPORT has learned that discussions have taken place with Ecclestone about the idea, and he indicated to the outfit in a letter last weekend that if its takeover of the HRT assets was complete then it should get an entry to F1.
Ecclestone wrote to the Scorpion Racing investors saying: "Have you bought the HRT company? Because if you have, they [the FIA] would be accepting you."
It is not clear if there is any mechanism for Scorpion to secure a place on the grid if it can convince the FIA that it has the funding and technical capability to compete in 2013.
I don't want another 2 usless cars in the middle of the way of the front runners. I f they want to compete, they have to be very well prepared not to interrupt the real F1 racing and start in 2014. If you know what I mean?
They will be abysmal in 2013, but 2014, is a level playing field, the team may have better facilities and funding, also a much better understanding in the sport.
Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone has blamed political in-fighting as one of the reasons behind a lack of a venue to date for this year's German Grand Prix.
Under the rotational system it shares with Hockenheim, this year the race should be taking place at the Nurburgring on July 7.
However, the Nurburgring has endured severe financial difficulties in recent times, at one point narrowly avoiding bankruptcy last year.
The knock-on effect has naturally led to a stalling in negotiations with regard to the hosting of this year's event.
On two occasions this month Ecclestone has said the race will not be held at the Nurburgring because of financial issues.
The fall-back position is for Hockenheim to play host this year, but according to Ecclestone, therein lies further difficulty for the 82- year-old.
The two circuits come under the auspices of different automobile associations in Germany, who pride themselves on staging a race known as the 'German Grand Prix'.
"It's all a little bit political, with different political groups fighting each other," Ecclestone explained.
"You have the AvD, one club there that looks after the Nurburgring, and the ADAC, another club, which looks after Hockenheim.
"The Nurburgring is where the race should take place, and the AvD say unless they can't do it then it can't take place.
"We've said to them we don't have to call it the German Grand Prix this year, we can call it the Grand Prix of Europe.
"It's all a bit messy. At the moment the race is on-off, on-off, but we're doing our best to get it sorted.
"We'll try and make it happen."
If Germany drops off the calendar there is the possibility of only 18 races being staged this year from an originally hoped-for 20.
With Germany in doubt, there also appears no viable host for the free race date of July 19-21 as Turkey was due to return, but has since fallen by the wayside.
The likes of France, Portugal and Austria have all been mentioned to fill in, but it now seems highly likely there will be no race that weekend.
If Germany also goes, F1 would find itself in an unusual position of staging just one Grand Prix in eight weeks in high summer, that in Hungary between the British and Belgian races on June 30 and August 25 respectively.

ZitatNurburgring secures deal to host 2013 German GP Thursday, January 31st 2013, 10:10 GMT
Nurburgring to host 2013 German GPA deal has been agreed for the Nurburgring to host the 2013 German Grand Prix, according to Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone.
The future of the event had been in doubt for several months as financial difficulties threatened the Nurburgring ability to host a grand prix.
Ecclestone said on Monday that talks had 'regrettably' broken down because terms being offered by the track were 'not financially acceptable'.
Ecclestone has however confirmed to Reuters that a deal has been agreed and that a race will take place on July 7.
"I treasure the Nurburgring and its history," Ecclestone said in a statement on Thursday.
"In view of its long tradition, I was glad to support choosing the Nurburgring as the venue for the Formula 1."
The deal means 19 races have been confirmed for the 2013 calendar.
The vacant July 21 slot is yet to be filled, despite reported interest from Turkey, Austria and Portugal.
