i prefer mclaren so much to lotus.....but mclaren is a bit....strange these days....not that lotus is much better...dont know...wherever Kimi feels more comfortable! " title="hmm" />
It will be interesting to see how this all transpires.
I think Hamilton would be wise to sign a short contract with McLaren. By short: I mean 1-2 years. There is a lot of changes in F1 coming in the near future: to both driver line-ups and rule changes.
For drivers: a red bull seat will open up for 2014 (because of Webber signing a 1-year deal). Maybe Mercedes shows an increase in resources and performance. I don't think Mercedes is a good option for 2013 at this present moment.
Rule Changes: It is still a mystery regarding who will produce the best turbo engine out of the blocks for 2014. This will likely have a huge bearing on which car performs the best for that season. Information will slowly leak out to the public and behind the scenes as time progresses. IMO, a very good reason to sign a short contract and see what the future holds.
Unfortunately for Hamilton, I think McLaren is the best available seat for 2013 at the current time. But will that hold true for 2014 and beyond? Will Red Bull be looked at as a stronger outfit than McLaren? They have certainly been the better team the past 3 seasons. And look to be stronger this year.. Will he want to get Webber's seat? Or wait for Fernando to retire and go to Ferrari?
It's hard to guess what Hamilton will do. I think a short contract is more ideal for him. But as your post states above, Spinne, McLaren want a longer deal.
Zitat von SpinsterSo i think hamilton won't make any longer deal as I think everyone need to swap teams once in his career...so I pray for a kimi mclaren deal...

Kimi to McLaren in 2013 or 2014?
2013 i guess i think ham has a pre deal for 2014 with rbr and goes to lotus or williams for one year
ZitatRussian Driver Aleshin Searches for F1 Sponsor 16:31 15/07/2012
Up-and-coming Russian driver Mikhail Aleshin is searching for a Russian sponsor to join a Formula One team, he told RIA Novosti on Sunday.
The 25 year old has displayed his racing potential by winning the 2010 Renault World Series and out-testing a number of established Formula One names such as Jean-Eric Vergne and Paul di Resta the same year.
Now he feels ready to join the F1 paddock, but lacks the multi million euro backing that saw countryman Vitaly Petrov secure a place with Renault in 2010.
State corporation Russian Technologies helped finance that deal, and Aleshin is seeking similar assistance to launch his career in the world's most prestigious motor sport.
"I'm not going to give up," Aleshin said. "I am only 25, which is a great age for Formula One and nothing is too late yet. The experience that I have will help me," he said.
"It is always nice when you are supported by Russian companies, your compatriots," Aleshin said. "We should always help each other. I have been performing for Russia for a long time and I'm proud of that."
Aleshin took a veiled swipe at Petrov, whose father is a prominent Russian businessman, saying success comes easier with a wealthy family.
"It is easier for a person whose family can secure a place in Formula One," he said. "The search for sponsors, if you don't have a rich father, is something that accompanies you throughout the entire racing career."
Aleshin started his career in karting, becoming the first Russian driver to win a major international single-seater race with a victory in a Renault World Series race in 2007.
Jenson Button again denies that he is poised to quit McLaren to team up with Fernando Alonso at Ferrari.
Jenson Button has admitted that he cannot understand why he continues to be linked to a possible Ferrari ride, insisting that he has not been approached by anyone from Maranello.
The Briton's names has recently come up again as a potential replacement for the under-fire Felipe Massa [see story here], but maintains that, other than pleasantries, he has not spoken to anyone who could make the move a reality. On top of that, he insists that he is happy with his lot at McLaren, despite suffering a mid-season slump in results that have left him a long way off potential Ferrari team-mate Fernando Alonso in the championship standings.
"There has always been contact - I always say 'hello' and 'how are you?' when I see Stefano Domenicali in the paddock," Button told Italy's Autosprint magazine, "But he knows and I know that I have a contract for next year. The Italians are passionate about sports, especially motorsport, but [McLaren] is the right place for me now."
Button added that he could not understand why his name had been raised as candidate for Massa's seat, where he joins an ever-changing list that has, from time to time, also included Kimi Raikkonen, Mark Webber, Paul di Resta, Sergio Perez, Nico Hulkenberg, Sebastian Vettel and, perhaps most surprisingly of all, Pastor Maldonado.
"Although I've always said 'never say never', I really don't know why [the speculation] has been focused so strongly in my direction," Button pondered, referring to a previous comment, made in the heat of his contract negotiations with McLaren, in which he suggested that boyhood favourite Ferrari would be a team he'd like to drive for.
That move is unlikely to come in the next couple of years - and, if the Scuderia pair Alonso with a young charger like Perez, maybe never - as Button admits that, while he admires the Spaniard, he would not be prepared to accept secondary status.
"He is a very intelligent driver and, maybe, in a parallel universe, I'd happily work with him," the Briton mused, "It would be difficult, but it's always interesting to have someone next to you who's so tough, so smart. I admire him as I admired Alain Prost. He's created a great atmosphere around him, with very good people. I'm sorry for Felipe, but I think Fernando has the whole team around him."
By the way - after some days with no access (for whatever reason - WHATEVER has nothing to do with it.... I hope) it is good to be back with sensible people with no hysteria about Spa. " title="five" />
